Students Run Philly Style sends a big thank you to The Sporting Club at the Bellevue and General Manager Tiffany Bucciarelli!

On Thursday, January 21st, The Sporting Club hosted a big 21st anniversary celebration and donated all the proceeds to Students Run Philly Style! Our students had the opportunity to meet Governor Ed Rendell and District Attorney Seth Williams and to spread the word about Gener8tion Run; and two of our students gave speeches to the entire crowd! To the staff of the Sporting Club: we can’t thank you enough!

Honoring
John Partridge

Our dear friend and Students Run Philly Style running leader John Partridge died suddenly this February.  We are honoring his legacy by establishing a scholarship in his name, to be given to a college-bound student from Philadelphia interested in entering the architectural field and studying sustainable green design principles.

John was the principal and owner of Partridge Architects, a Philadelphia-based architecture firm he founded in March of 1997. John’s mission and focus were to incorporate sustainable green design principles into the firm’s work. He was a LEED accredited professional, a member of the American Institute of Architects, the U.S. Green Building Council, and the Delaware Valley Green Building Council. John graduated from the University of Virginia, School of Architecture. In addition to his volunteer efforts with Students Run Philly Style, John gave much time to his community through coaching soccer and basketball, working with the Narberth Greens Kid’s Environmental Club, and the Overbrook Presbyterian Church.

We welcome you to join us in
honoring John’s memory.

The First Annual Gener8tion Run was a Huge Success!

On the afternoon of April 17th, 1,500 runners including over 400 students stepped up the the challenge of competing in Gener8tion Run, Students Run Philly Style's first ever signature fundraising race. The event was an incredible succees! We awarded college scholarships to nine of our college-bound students, and twenty-five vendors participated in our Health and Wellness Fair. In partnership with Councilwoman Blondell Reynolds Brown, they offered health screenings, fitness challenges, games, and fun for the whole family! Click here for race day results! We can't wait for Generation Run 2011 - make sure you come check it out!
