Michael Panna, Administration and Enrollment Specialist
Michael joined the staff of Students Run Philly Style in May of 2015.
He is a life-long multi-sport athlete and an enthusiast of youth sports and running in all forms. Michael previously worked as a certified athletic trainer at Alvernia University and Swarthmore college, and also for major international sporting events and various sports clubs. He formerly played for the Philadelphia Spinners in Major League Ultimate.
As the Administration and Enrollment Specialist, Michael is primarily responsible for all data collection and management of team programs as well as overall administrative office operations. He serves as the primary point person for Students Run Philly Style teams and matters concerning the program database, race registrations, transportation logistics, and event details. His unique combination of experience in various athletic backgrounds and administration helps Students Run continue to grow and succeed in their mission.
Michael earned a Master’s degree in Community Leadership from Alvernia University in 2013 and a Bachelor of Science degree in Athlete Training from Neumann University in 2010. While Michael prefers shorter races and sprint workouts, he aspires to complete his first marathon in the not-so-distant future.
Favorite Students Run Event
“Individual weekly team practices. Knowing that our students have the drive to show up for early morning runs and/or practices after school is inspiring. They commit to these practices to improve their lives in so many ways when they could easily be sleeping or playing video games, watching TV, etc. There may be nothing better than seeing a happy and accomplished student runner.”
I can’t run without…
“a good tune in my head or some kind of challenge to complete.”
